Nowadays, Fengshui is more than that. There is another branch of Fengshui called Symbolic Fengshui. This practice includes having ornaments, items and objects that can be placed at certain areas in the house to enhance good qi or reduce negative qi. Old Fengshui schools say that these items are not needed and the positioning of stuff and the design of the building are what matter.
I recently consulted a Fengshui master and he helped me to calculate my apartment's flying stars. Then he recommended me to buy several items to be placed around the house to help repel negative qi. He added that my bedroom had bad qi that could be detrimental to my health. I heeded to his advice and bought the items and placed them where he suggested. After several weeks, the effects showed. I have scoliosis and since 2002 I have had no choice but to ignore it due to 2 reasons:
1. My doctor said it was mild
2. Surgery to correct it was unaffordable.
But several weeks after placing the fengshui items, I got to know my new barber who said my scoliosis is actually serious and he introduced me to a Chinese Doctor + Martial Artist and I am own my way to fixing my back! I believe the Fengshui items helped a lot. You can get more details about the low-cost no-surgery scoliosis treatment on my personal site.
The treatment is a bit similar to this one, but actually a lot different:
