Josh Tam's personal review

Lego Star Wars 2, The Original Trilogy, is almost exactly the same as Lego Star Wars in terms of gameplay and feel, but there are certain fun improvements and additions, and the story is based on the Original Star Wars Episodes 4, 5 and 6.

The annoying game restarts are fixed. In Lego Star Wars, there are certain missions where you need to pilot your ship to gun down enemies and when you get gunned down, you have to start again.

But in Lego Star Wars 2, when it comes to minigames like this, they play quite the same as when you are playing with your character. When you get blown up, you respawn. This eliminates the annoyance and I could sit through the game without getting on my nerve.

There are some really cool additions in Lego Star Wars 2. They include:

Not limited
You are not limited to the general features and functions of the character that you are using. In some areas, there are switches that can give you a storm trooper helmet and you can pretend you are a storm trooper to full the guards and open stormtrooper-only doors. You can even ride bikes, pods, vehicles or mechs.

Missiles
In the ship games as mentioned earlier, there is no more restart. When you get blown up, you respawn, and you don't have to just follow the game as it progresses. There is actually a mission to carry out, either to blow something up or to destroy all mother ships. You can do this by shooting the Tie-fighters and then collecting the pink orbs that float about. Once you have those pink orbs, you can fire them to the targets, much like missiles. Now this is cool.

Improved Puzzles
The puzzles are now more difficult and you need to think a lot to solve them, but solving these puzzles would really be worth it. When I say difficult, I mean, you need to think and experiment for quite a long while.

However, Lego Star Wars 2 still has some drawbacks. There are still some annoying parts, though not as annoying as the first Lego Star Wars. There are certain stages where I need to walk to another part of the map via a tiny path and I keep falling down as the path is not straight!! But by moving really really slowly, I succeeded and in the end, I got to the other side... phew.

To conclude, if you have played Lego Star Wars before, Lego Star Wars 2 is a must to play. It continues the storyline and it is a lot less annoying to play and has more fun features. I would recommend it to all Star Wars fans out there.
