Every horse thinks its burden heaviest
What do you think the quote "Every horse thinks its burden heaviest" should mean? My sister Shoukei and I came up with several interpretations...
This is actually a famous quote by someone... I forgot who.
"Every horse thinks its burden heaviest"
Shoukei said the quote could mean a few things:
The horse is pathetic. It thinks that it's life is the most miserable because it's burden is heaviest.
The horse is jealous. It thinks that other horses' lives are better for carrying lighter burdens.
The horse is proud. It thinks that it can carry the heaviest burdens amongst other horses.
The horse is strong. It thinks its burden heaviest as in always thinking about being able to carry the heaviest of burdens.
I came up with this:
1. The horse thinks lowly of itself because it thinks that what it
carries is always a "burden"
2. The horse is smart. Most animals don't really think.
